Business Development Manager - 2 positions open in Bangalore
Work Description:

We are an Education Technology company, trying to help individuals make the right career decisions. This is of great Value to any individual! SkillWiz has developed a proprietary software platform that enables self-evaluation, improvement and career decision-making in a unique and powerful way. Integrated with social networks, this platform is already being successfully used by youngsters in India. Every day we spend countless hours trying to convince individuals, colleges, corporates and other such clients about the Value we provide. When not meeting clients, we spend time trying to come up with more efficient ways of reaching our customers! SkillWiz is currently looking for people who are passionate about building a business, energetic, are bold and not afraid of rolling up their sleeves to taste success. We need people that are keen on being part of a small, young and dynamic company in one of India’s fastest growing and most promising sectors – the Education sector. Currently, the work will entail scoping out colleges in Karnataka and meeting with the key decision makers in the college and getting their students signed up with SkillWiz.

Specific Responsibilities & Skills:

  • Acquire colleges in any given state/ region in an academic cycle.
  • Drive sales related activities and pipeline building efforts to ensure achievement of revenue and number targets.
  • Responsibility for meeting sales targets in the defined market and business segments. This would mean within Karnataka and outside, if need be.
  • Must have the stature and confidence to interact directly with Directors/Chairmen institutions and build trust and confidence with them.
  • Should be knowledgeably about the products and services he or she sells and be able to sell value to clients. Must be capable of learning and talking the right language with customers.
  • Should be able to own deliverables and commitments and need minimal supervision.
  • Taking ownership for entire sales lifecycle – from Leads to Closure.
  • Maintain strong pipeline to ensure all opportunities are captured for both existing and target.
  • Work with marketing for campaigns, events and collaterals to support sales activities and plans.
Requirements:

  • MBA (Undergraduates are also welcome).
  • Experience: between 0 to 2 years (strongly preferred).
  • Street smart and intelligent (absolutely needed).
  • Must have high Aptitude, which indicates high ability to learn new stuff (absolutely needed).
  • Must be humble. We don’t like arrogance and show-offs.
  • Must be willing to work in high-pressure, team situations.
  • Will need to travel across Karnataka and maybe outside as well.
  • Must be interested in changing the world. Or at least, transforming an Industry creating and pushing out the Differentiated Value of the product. (Yes, it’s possible. We’re doing it. )
  • Must be motivated to create wealth, earn some fame and be called an Industry leader. (None of this we promise, but it’s most likely going to be a side effect of doing something great!)
  • Should be skilled in the following areas or should be able to pick these up soon:
    • Problem Solving
    • Verbal ability
    • Consumer Behaviour
    • Pricing
    • Direct sales
    • Distribution
    • Negotiation
  • Additional skills in Data Mining would be a plus point
  • Location: Bangalore

Additional Information:

  • You will be working directly with the Co-founder, who is also the head of Sales & Marketing.
    • He is a MBA from ISB (hyd) and has worked in the industry for 10 years in the advertising/media and telecom sector.
    • You will get direct access to the company’s founding team on a daily basis and you will be a part of the decision making product team.
  • SkillWiz has 2 offices in Bangalore and you will most probably be working out of the office on Sarjapur Road.
  • The team works closely together. Decisions are made fast. Execution is done even faster.
  • Compensation will be Industry competitive and most probably, the best-in-class, if you’re joining us as a super smart fresher.
