IBS is committed to developing these new age leaders, adept at handling the dynamics of the global business environment. The institute is striving towards promoting quality education, research, training and consultancy in the field of management. The two-year full-time program at the campus is designed to expose the students to concepts, policies and techniques for the effective and efficient management of global organizations. Infrastructure

Library

The campus library is well-stocked with a large collection of books, magazines and journals on Business Management, Finance and Banking, Economics, Marketing, Operations Management and Human Resource Management, along with those on literature and self development.

The library has 28,994 books on management alone. In addition to this, more than 70 periodicals and Magazines on diverse subjects, published by Icfai University Press are received in the library and made available to the users.

The library also subscribes to more than 565 national and 3000 international journals (online and paperback.) These include:

Faculty Resources

The Bangalore Campus of IBS has about 45 faculty members with extensive knowledge, business experience and advanced education. In addition, consultants, experienced professionals from the industry, and other institutions of repute are also invited to the campus as visiting faculty.

The faculty is active in research and publication, and also provides consultancy to business enterprises. In the year 2006-07 alone, the faculty have authored 25 books, 96 case studies and contributed about about 76 research papers in national and international journals.

Symposiums and workshop are regularly organized in the campus. Faculty members are encouraged to attend national/international seminars and conferences to keep them selves abreast with the latest trends in academics and industry.

Advice from the IBS faculty is sought by the industry for their training and management development needs. The industry also approaches the faculty for group and individual consultancy projects.

Pedagogy

The focus at IBS is on learning and not just teaching. The school lays a great deal of emphasis on interactive learning through cases, live projects and feedback to students. The pedagogy comprises of:

  • Case studies to help the students acquire problem-solving and decision-making skills

  • Summer Internship to expose the students to the rigors of business environment and combine the concepts learnt in classroom with the real-life situations. The students are also provided an opportunity to pursue Summer Internship Program (SIP) abroad

  • Management Research Project involving work on a comprehensive research project under the guidance of faculty.

  • Independent Study where students are encouraged to take up projects on contemporary topics. Faculty members are available for providing the necessary guidance and direction

  • Continual multi criteria evaluation

  • Language training through interactive sessions  and lingua-phones

  • Soft Skills Training for a holistic development of personality and better career prospects

  • IT Training to keep the future entrepreneurs abreast with the latest technological innovations

Student Activities

Co-curricular activities, aimed at grooming students and bringing out their latent talent is an essential part of life at the Bangalore campus.  Student’s participation in these activities is encouraged in order to inculcate in them managerial and leadership skills. 

Student Clubs and Forums

The students of IBS Bangalore campus have formed several clubs for social, cultural and sports activities, in addition to organizing and participating in business forums and seminars.

IBS Business Leader- Quarterly Magazine

IBS Business Leader, is the quarterly in-house newsletter of the campus. It is both informative and interesting, with articles and papers contributed by students and faculty. The newsletter brings together not only current news from the business world, but also encourages students to think of the world around them. True to its name, it moulds them into leaders and gives impetus to creativity and talent at the campus.

Tarkash:

Tarkash is the  annual all India management meet organized at IBS Bangalore. The name Tarkash, subtly denotes that business is a battleground and a challenging arena.

Placements

IBS has a strong placement network with blue-chip companies in the manufacturing sector, financial services, banking, IT and consulting. The placement efforts at IBS are done on an all India basis through placement executives and placement managers. IBS Placement Team (IPT) identifies potential companies, acquaints them of the talent pool available at the campuses and coordinates with the students, in terms of matching their aspirations with the job profile. 

Mock interviews and presentations are also conducted to prepare the students for final interviews with potential employers.
