IBS®
Chandigarh, a constituent of the Icfaian Foundation, is now operating in a 3-acre plot in the area of
Mohali. The sprawling, landscaped and lush green lawns
provide a congenial environment for education and learning.
In it, we have state-of-the-art physical and academic
infrastructure with a total covered area of 48,000 sq ft.
At
IBS® Chandigarh, future managers are taught how to deal with
work pressures and meet the deadlines while keeping overall
productivity levels high. We address issues of attitude,
team spirit, assertiveness, and patience and help in
learning presentation, negotiation and listening skills.
Regular counseling helps in effective personality
development by nurturing the strengths of students whilst
also addressing other areas of concern, if any.
The
present academic complex has modern air-conditioned lecture halls with the
latest facilities for presentations, with LCD projectors and computers. It
has a well-equipped computer lab, a conference room, a spacious
auditorium, a fully furnished and active placement cell and a well-stocked
library. We also have a recreation room and facilities for indoor as well
as outdoor games, in addition to a canteen and excellent parking
facilities.
IBS®
Chandigarh has a well-stocked computerized library with a wide range of
books on management, IT and e-business, and magazines and journals. The
library also takes care of preparation and distribution of study material
related to the courses. In the library, the students have round-the-clock
access to the EBSCO database, which is an extensive referral guide that
provides access to the latest articles in the international journals and
periodicals related to management and allied areas. The library also
subscribes to the Prowess online database. The database is a storehouse of
financial, managerial and economic information on over 10,000 companies.
The
campus has a Wi-Fi network with 24-hour net connectivity
through a 1024 Kbps capacity leased line. The internet can
be accessed from any place in the campus round the clock
using laptops. The SPSS and SAS statistical packages,
powerful tools used in business analysis are also available
to students. Students also use the SAP software package
extensively.
Since
our inception in 2004, the students have had a regular
interface and interaction with the industry through
projects, internships, seminars, workshops, panel
discussions and guided tours. Through these activities, we
have covered a range of topics. A healthy competitive spirit
is also nurtured through creating and using available
opportunities for interaction with other b-school students
through organizing and participating in management festivals
and management games. These student activities are conducted
through a Students Council under the guidance of the Student
Activities Coordinator. The aim is holistic development of
students.
There
are five active clubs. These are the Finance, Cultural, Environment, IT and
Sports Clubs. The creation of these clubs offers opportunities to all the
students for wider participation.
Activities
include regular interaction with the students, career visioning, skill
development, industry visits, campus visits and counseling. A placement
committee assisted by student representatives coordinate all these activities.
Placement efforts are planned, directed and executed to help achieve the maximum
for our students.
Students
have also successfully conducted various functions ranging
from talk shows and seminars, to celebrating
festivals/occasions such as Independence Day and Vanmahotsav.
The
college magazine Manjushaa sub-edited by the students is
regularly published to capture and communicate the thoughts
of the students on the campus.
The
marketing department is successfully publishing a weekly
e-newsletter that brings out the crux of business news
during the week and promotes writing from among the staff
and students.
