amphitheaters) are all air-conditioned, and Wi-Fi enabled with audio-visual aids
for interactive learning. The library has a collection of more than 6,000 books
and 250 CDs. Subscriptions are made to 47 reputed Indian and 12 international

purposes. The computer lab, apart from addressing the computing
requirements through the necessary hardware and software
infrastructure, also has a repository of software packages
useful for extensive analysis and business research. Prowess (CMIE),
SPSS and SAS (statistical packages) are popularly used by
students as part of their curriculum in information technology,
marketing and finance.

At
IBS® Chennai, emphasis is laid on the need to balance a student’s life within
the class and out of the class. IBS® Chennai creates and maintain a conducive
environment to utilize the student’s energy for diverse extra-curricular and
co-curricular activities which take place round the year. The Students Council
comprising duly elected student representatives plays an active role in
coordinating with the academic and administration functions of the institute. A
faculty member is designated the responsibility of coordinating all student
activities.
Glimpses,
an in-house newsletter wholly managed by the students, is published quarterly
providing an opportunity for students to display their creative talents. Coliseum,
the branded signature all India management meet conducted by students of IBS®
Chennai, attracts talented management students from all over India and is ranked
among the top b-school meets in the country. Marketrix (Marketing Seminar),
Third Eye (IT Seminar), and an HR Seminar are some of the other annual events
organized by the students with sponsorship and support from the industry. Chiara,
another event, is fast becoming another popular brand of IBS®
Chennai, where the
students get an opportunity to showcase their multifaceted cultural
personalities.
Students
are encouraged to form informal groups and clubs based on
their areas of interest, and to share information, exchange
ideas and interact with the industry. Finance, marketing and

of the local/national level meets and have brought many
laurels, including winning coveted competitions like the All

Students
enjoy an annual trekking expedition to the sylvan hilly
terrains of Yelagiri to build their stamina, handle stress
and recharge their spirits, a welcome break from the
rigorous academic schedule.
IBS®

various indoor and outdoor games. Apart from these, under
the banner Kartavya, they take part in various social
activities like blood donation or lending a helping hand to
the orphanages in Chennai.
